The Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is busy preparing for the kick-off of The World Series of Poker events that they’ll be hosting from May 27th through July 17th.
In addition to several new tournaments slated for the 2010 WSOP, the officials have taken a cue from the success of the first $1,000 buy in tournament that was introduced in 2009. The event was overwhelmingly successful, attracting over 6,000 players. In an effort to offer a diverse selection of tournaments and increase attendance, the WSOP 2010 is featuring 7 different $1,000 buy-in tournaments. $1,000 no-limit hold ‘em events will be take place on each of the first five weekends of the event. There are also Ladies and Seniors low-limit events scheduled as well as an open event in July.
This year’s event is promising to draw the biggest crowds ever with the introduction of these low limit events, attracting a wide variety of new players. The WSOP 2010 team and the Rio Casino is preparing with100,000 square feet of space that will hold 377 poker tables for improved space and comfort. The food court will be indoors and retail and entertainment space has been expanded.
While the event is being set up, poker fans are preparing for the 57 bracelet events that will take place over the next few months.
