Singapore’s second new casino has opened it’s doors – the long awaited Marina Bay Sands. Genting’s Resort World Sentosa opened in February, giving it the distinction of being Singapore’s first casino. There has been huge anticipation for the opening of The Marina Bay Sands in spite of this, due to the size and nature of the project.
At the end of April, the ribbon was cut for the opening of the first phase of the Marina Bay Sands. The opening included the casino, most importantly, less than half of the total hotel rooms, some of the shopping mall and restaurants and the convention center. The big celebration is planned for June, however.
The Grand Opening celebration is scheduled for June 23rd, which will include the unveiling of the already infamous Sands SkyPark as well as the rest of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and luxury shops and restaurants. The grand opening celebration is sure to include a host of entertainment and fanfare to match the size and brilliance of the resort itself.
