Despite the drop in gambling revenue that the most infamous U.S. gambling destinations, including Las Vegas and Atlantic City, have seen over the past year, gambling revenue in Pennsylvania continues to rise.
Slots revenues in Pennsylvania surpassed those of New Jersey this year, which is a first. Given the recent successes of new Pennsylvania casinos, PA lawmakers are actually giving New Jersey a run for its money… To do so, Pennsylvania decided to legalize table games to provide casino goers with the full experience.
The table games were supposed to launch this summer in Pennsylvania casinos, including casinos in the Pocono tourist hot spots. Summer is here already but there is progress being made. Table games are being delivered to the casinos and staff is being trained for these new, and very important, additions to the casinos.
Time will tell if indeed Pennsylvania will become the new giant of gambling in the Mid Atlantic/North East region – or perhaps there’s room for two at the top...
